My last post was about how I stay inspired and work off that inspiration in a creative field, and now I’m going to build off of that.

Last post I didn’t mention one thing that keeps me motivated to create and inspires me to do so, other artists and graphic designers. Whether its my classmates, professors, youtubers, or content creators, other artists keep me inspired and inspire me to try new things. There are two artists I follow on instagram that keep me coming back for more inspiration and motivation to create; Max Kolo and Frankie Gaw.

Max Kolo

Max Kolo, or cool_lookin_bug on most social media, is a Brooklyn based artist who became known on social media through remaking small signs and ads across new york city for free and putting them up for the business, always keeping the original hung up as well. His work shows us that you don’t always have to look far for inspiration, sometimes its a written out ad for people to use the other door at a restuarant.

Frankie Gaw

Frankie Gaw, known as littlefatboyfrankie on social media, focuses on redesigning classic American childhood snacks and ingredients with an asian twist. His work inspires me through redesigning already made designs with his own twist, something I still struggle with. When having to recreate an already existing publicaion for example, I struggle to make it my own, to ‘finnick it’ as one of my professors say. His work helps inspire me to think outside the box and find new ways to make already existing things my own.

Both these designers find inspiration and motivation from working on already existing things and making it something new. It helps others see things from a different perspective and feel inspired to try something new.
